Much to my surprise, when I logged onto the Internet during my second week on the road, my email inbox was filled with messages from people all around the world. I checked my web logs and discovered hundreds of unique users were visiting and reading my site.
As my trip progressed, the number of readers increased. I was constantly getting emails from well wishers and fellow bikers. By the end of my ride, I had received hundreds of emails from the thousands of people who visited my site during the summer. Almost every email was about jealousy. It was amazing to me how many people dreamed about quitting their job, storing all of their belongings, and hitting the road. It may not have been their fantasy to bike across the country, but it was their fantasy to just quit it all and follow their dreams.
Below are the journals that I kept during my ride. I hope you'll enjoy them.
